Though the code encompasses twelve parts, it is most commonly associated, in approvals processes, with Section 6: Energy Efficiency Standards for residential and nonresidential buildings, covering new constructions, remodels, and additions.
This code undergoes updates every three years, with the latest revision introduced in 2022, effective as of January 2023.
